Your health is your future...
The subject of whether children benefit from Acupuncture is clear.Children can benefit from Acupuncture in a big way. This has been proven time and time again. In my experience I often see children with obscure rare conditions or where they have not responded as predicted to conventional medical treatment. Usually the parent is at their wits end if the western medical treatment are failing or the prospective treatment is too severe eg - surgery, and the parent feels they would rather try anything else before embarking down the surgical avenue.
Children tend to respond very quickly to the treatment. As their energy systems are volatile, changes in a child can be rapid, even with long standing conditions.
The beauty of this system is there are no drugs and no surgery, which is ultimately what any parent would want for their child.
The largest hurdle against any Acupuncturist is the ‘needle phobia’, that most people tend to have. Generally, once it has been explained the objective of what is trying to be achieved and a trust has been established between child and practitioner, the first session usually goes well. After that the child usually has no problem with further treatments and is keen about discussing their experience with their friends and relatives.
Many children have, and many more will benefit from Acupuncture. It is always worth considering this option before serious medical intervention.
This is not to invalidate any medical treatment that has been undertaken or being considered, as all cases are assessed individually.
