This depends on many factors:
- How a patient responds to treatment, some people react more quickly than others do.
- How much a patient complies to the treatment (i.e.: - their commitment to getting better), e.g.: - if rest is a necessary requirement to aid treatment and advice is taken - then this can have an obvious bearing on the outcome of treatment.
- How long a "complaint" or "condition" has been established. An acute (short duration) condition usually responds rapidly. Obviously the more chronic (well established) a condition the longer it will take to correct.
- The age of the patient can be a factor, as youthful patients tend to heal more quickly, although there are some remarkable elderly out there.
- Constitutional factor - if a patient has a strong constitution this aids a speedy recovery. Constitution is like your genetic coding, what has been passed on to you by your parents. Likewise if a patient has become very depleted or run down and their constitution is poor this can hinder their progress.
