eczema
Eczema is an inflammation of the skin, usually causing itching and sometimes accompanied by scaling or blisters. Eczema is sometimes caused by an allergy, but often occurs for no know reason.
There are various forms of Eczema and some of the details of they different types are listed below.
- Atopic Eczema - A chronic fluctuating disease which may occur at any age, although often developing before the age of one.

- Stasis Eczema - This is also known as Varicose Eczema, Gravitational Eczema or Hypostatic Eczema. This is a common disorder of the lower limbs and typically starts as swelling on the inner ankle.

- Nummular Eczema - This type of Eczema usually occurs in adults. These are well demarked coin shaped patches. If itching is present it is usually described as mild to moderate.

- Pompholyx Eczema - This is characterised initially by an eruption of very itchy vesicles (a small fluid filled swelling) on the sides of the fingers and palms of the hands and occasionally the soles of the feet and toes.
