Treated Conditions - Arthritis

There are over 100 different forms of Arthritis, but they all have one thing in common as far as the joints are concerned. They all involve inflammation at one stage or another and result in the destruction of the shape and functioning of the body’s joints. Some of the Arthritic conditions are quicker and more acute than others, some relate to specific joints others to all. Genetic factors seem to also play a part i.e. if a Grandparent had Arthritis it may be more likely to be passed through the next generation. The earlier an Arthritic condition is treated the better, due to its destructive nature. Arthritis can also affect other areas of the body, such as the blood circulation and organs of the body. Some are linked to a systemic disease such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosis and Psoriasis (commonly associated with the skin). There are cases of Juvenile Arthritis whereby the very young can be affected; this is associated with a genetic defect. The more common forms of Arthritis are Osteo Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Gout and Ankylosing Spondylosis. With all the Arthritic areas early treatment is best to try and prevent any of the conditions becoming advanced.
